Regional Western Australia introducing TAM based on peoplemeter technology. Early Jan 2006 WIN Corporate CEO, George Papadopoulous confirmed decision to replace diaries with online peoplemeter TAM system into Regional Western Australia. Establishment survey began in Jan 2006, with the new contract taking affect as of Jul 2006. All TV stations in the Regional Western Australian market have opportunity to participate in this new contract.

 

European TV ratings Joint Industry Committees commit to rollout of UNITAM metering technology.
Auditel , Italian JIC, committed to upgrade its TV Ratings technology, with the progressive deployment of the UNITAM system.

  • Deployment plan foresees a phased rollout over the next 4 years.

  • By end 2006, it is expected that nearly one third of the current 5,100 household panel will be installed with UNITAM. By end of 2007, upgrade should have been implemented in some 2,200 homes.

BARB, UK JIC, endorsed phased rollout of UNITAM for UK TV ratings panel 1Q06.

  • Decision follows one year of Testing by BARB engineers including measurement of all known platforms and reporting of viewing through generic PVRs and PCs.

  • ollout scheduled to begin in May 2006, expected that some 600 HH will be installed this year.

Turkey first country to have successfully implemented UNITAM, and deployed since 2Q05. Expected that by end 2006, a number of other countries including China, Greece, Hungary will have deployed UNITAM with about 8,000 HH installed in total.

AGB Nielsen Media Research Hungary awarded MTV tender on 1st Feb 2006. Contract has a duration of
3 years. Hungary currently upgrading its metering technology with UNITAM, to measure increasing digital penetration within TV HHs.

 

Panel expansions and upgrades in a number of Asian & Latin countries.

  • Foreseen that during 2006 a further 6 provincial panels will be implemented in China, and progress is being made in converting current off-line meters into an online service.
  • Indonesia data available to subscribers as of 1Q05 for 10th Terrestrial TAM city, Banjarmasin. Upgrading national panel to online service currently underway.
  • Philippines following restructuring of Mega Manila panel following joint venture, now also upgraded all other offline key city panels to online meters.
  • Malaysian panel expansion to 1,000 HH currently underway.
  • Thailand, nationwide conversion from offline to online TAM service well underway with all Greater Bangkok homes nearly completed.
  • Mexican panel expanded to include two new area Puebla and Leon, with data available to clients as of 1Q06.
  • The first stage of Venezuelan National Panel Expansion from 485 to 650 HH well advanced. National panel to include two new cities C. Guayana and Puerto La Cruz with additional 120 HH.
  • Venezuela evaluating with US Networks to establish additional digital panel underway with implementation target for 2H06.
